Terms and Conditions

By accessing or using Tripwire DX, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are using Tripwire DX for a school, club, employer, client, or another organization, you are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to use the Service and to analyze the relevant workbook.

You may use Tripwire DX only if you can lawfully agree to these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the Service.

Tripwire DX is a browser-based workbook-checking tool. It examines supported .xlsx files for selected indicators, including formula errors, external workbook links, hidden or very-hidden sheets, formula-pattern breaks, suspicious hardcodes, blank interruptions, and other supported signals.

Workbook analysis takes place locally on your device inside the browser. The current version does not upload the workbook, its filename, its contents, or results derived from it to a Tripwire DX server.

Tripwire DX may classify, prioritize, summarize, or explain detected indicators. A report is intended to help you decide what to review. It is not a replacement for your own examination of the workbook or for qualified professional judgment.

The supported checks, file-size limits, browser requirements, classifications, and report format may change as the Service develops.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right and permission to open, process, and analyze every workbook you use with Tripwire DX.

You must keep appropriate backups of your files and independently review the workbook and Tripwire DX’s findings before submitting, sharing, relying on, or acting on the model.

You are responsible for complying with any confidentiality obligations, school or employer policies, client restrictions, intellectual-property rights, data-protection duties, and other rules that apply to the workbook.

You remain responsible for every decision made using the workbook or a Tripwire DX report. Tripwire DX does not make decisions for you.

Feedback is voluntary. If you send feedback, include only information you are authorized to share and do not enter workbook names, formulas, cell values, findings, or confidential information. A reply email is optional and is used only to respond.

You must not use Tripwire DX to:

• Process a workbook that you are not authorized to access or analyze.
• Break any applicable law, regulation, contractual duty, confidentiality obligation, or third-party right.
• Introduce malicious code, corrupted payloads, or content intended to damage, disrupt, overload, or test the Service without permission.
• Interfere with the website, bypass technical limits, probe for vulnerabilities, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data.
• Use automated requests, scraping, or abusive traffic in a way that materially harms availability for others.
• Misrepresent Tripwire DX findings or present a report as proof that a workbook has received a professional review or approval.
• Copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except where Tripwire DX has given written permission.

Nothing in these Terms restricts activity that cannot lawfully be restricted, including rights that may apply to security research, interoperability, or reverse engineering under mandatory law.

Tripwire DX checks only the indicators supported by the current version. Workbooks can contain structural, commercial, accounting, operational, presentation, or logic issues that the Service does not test.

A finding may require context before it can be treated as a genuine problem. The absence of a finding does not establish that a workbook is complete, reliable, suitable for a particular purpose, or ready to submit.

Results can be affected by unsupported workbook features, browser behavior, device limitations, file corruption, unusual spreadsheet structures, or changes in third-party file formats and libraries.

The Service and its reports are provided for informational support. They do not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, educational, or other professional advice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis without promises about uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every workbook, or detection of every relevant issue. Nothing in this section excludes rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not permit the operator of Tripwire DX to exclude or restrict.

Subject to that protection, Tripwire DX and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Service or its reports. This may include lost work, lost opportunity, loss of profits, loss of data, reputational harm, or decisions made from a workbook.

You are responsible for maintaining backups and for independently reviewing important work before it is submitted or relied upon.

Tripwire DX’s website, software, interface, reports, written content, visual design, logo, name, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to the operator of Tripwire DX and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Tripwire DX or its underlying materials to you.

You keep any rights you already hold in the workbook you analyze. Tripwire DX does not claim ownership of your workbook or its contents.

Microsoft Excel and related Microsoft marks belong to their respective owner. References to .xlsx files or Microsoft Excel describe compatibility and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.

Tripwire DX may add, remove, suspend, restrict, or modify features, supported checks, file limits, browser requirements, or access to the Service. The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, security concerns, or circumstances outside the operator’s control.

These Terms may also be updated. When that happens, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page must change. Material changes should be presented clearly on the website before or when they take effect.

Your continued use of Tripwire DX after updated Terms take effect means that the updated Terms apply to later use. If you do not accept an update, stop using the Service.
